bluetooth headphones for metal detectors

Headphones for metal detectors can be wired or wireless. When choosing wired headphones, the main criterion is the presence of a coiled cable. The connector is also important (usually it is a 'large jack' 6.3 mm, less often a 'small jack' 3.5 mm). If an adapter is used on the connector, it is preferable that it has a screw fastening to the connector. Wireless headphones offer convenience and efficiency.

Headphones for a metal detector: which ones to buy and why

Is it better to search with headphones or without? There are plenty of supporters on both sides. We won't argue for one point of view right now, but let's simply look at the pros and cons and understand what you need to know when choosing headphones.

Advantages of searching with headphones

1) Increased search efficiency. In any metal detector, the main method of target identification is sound — its tone, nuances, volume, strength. Everything else, including the famous VDI number, is just an auxiliary tool. Only the use of headphones allows you to hear weak, questionable, subtly "colored," and deep signals. Headphones are especially indispensable when searching in strong winds, near busy roads, or in a large group of treasure hunters, as they help block out all external noises and focus on the search.

2) Battery saving. When using headphones, the metal detector consumes less power. Therefore, if you notice that the battery indicator is nearing the minimum level and you have no spare power sources, you can extend the device's operating time by connecting headphones to it.

3). Stealth. When working with headphones, the signals from the metal detector are heard only by the operator, and the device's signal is not broadcast across the area, thus avoiding unnecessary attention. This is especially true for metal detectors without an adjustable volume control. Using headphones in this way is particularly relevant near densely populated areas, at night and early in the morning, and on the beach.

Disadvantages of searching with headphones:

1) You can't hear your surroundings. This can be very dangerous, especially when searching alone (wild animals, unpredictable people, passing vehicles, etc.).

2) The headphone cord gets in the way (especially when digging up a find). This only applies to wired headphones; with wireless ones, this problem doesn't exist.

3) Only you can hear the signal. It's inconvenient when digging in pairs, for example, one with the device and the other with the shovel—the "second" person cannot hear the signals and has to rely solely on your gestures.

Which headphones should you choose for a metal detector?

To make a decision on which headphones to choose, it is necessary to know the following fundamental points.

Headphones can be wired or wireless, for searching on land or underwater (submersible), with or without volume control, and they can come as part of the metal detector package or be purchased separately.

It is not necessary to buy expensive, brand-name headphones. You can look at other manufacturers and find a cheaper option that is just as good in quality.

For example, the series of underwater headphones from LS PELSO (Hungary) for Minelab CTX 3030, Equinox 600 and 800, Nokta Makro Simplex/Kruzer/Anfibio metal detectors. You can find them in stores or on the "12 Talers" company website.
